Summary

This book was more engaging than the first book。 There was more of a plot and more substantial character development。 I recommend going into the book without reading the synopsis for an engrossing read。

I loved book 1, the same is not true for this one。 It felt like some small plot points added just to get to another sex scene。 Rarely do I say that a book has too much sex in it, but it is true for this one。 The story feels forced and there is too much going on at once。 It felt chaotic。 Which would be ok if it just rolled through, but we keep getting sidetracked by sex and then have to come back to the story and I’m almost lost as to where it left off。 I feel like I’m not reading the same series I loved book 1, the same is not true for this one。 It felt like some small plot points added just to get to another sex scene。 Rarely do I say that a book has too much sex in it, but it is true for this one。 The story feels forced and there is too much going on at once。 It felt chaotic。 Which would be ok if it just rolled through, but we keep getting sidetracked by sex and then have to come back to the story and I’m almost lost as to where it left off。 I feel like I’m not reading the same series。 I have book 3 ready to read and I’m just not sure I want to start it。 。。。more

Words can’t describe how disappointed I am about this book。 I really enjoyed the first book, yes it has its flaws but it was still good。 This…This…Book…I couldn’t take it。 One character was so whiny and acted childish the whole book。 If you’ve read it, you know WHO。 This book (even the first one) reminded me so much of 50 Shades。 I wouldn’t take that as a positive。 I just wish I had my time back 🫠

3。5 I'm still LOVING this series。 But there was something not quite as catching in this book。 I don't know if I expected more from Persephone and her powers, or what。 But 。。。 How can you not adore these 2 main characters, though?! 3。5 I'm still LOVING this series。 But there was something not quite as catching in this book。 I don't know if I expected more from Persephone and her powers, or what。 But 。。。 How can you not adore these 2 main characters, though?! 。。。more

I don't feel like all of her consequences really taught her she was wrong and needed to be more considerate of others。 If anything, it came off like people became her enemies because they deserved it instead of realising the world isn't I。。。 could not root for Persephone at all in this book。 She was whiny and ignorant of her privilege as a goddess in the upper world and her impact in the underworld。 I didn't understand why she thought her actions would not hurt others, especially her loved ones? Now it felt like they were having sex all the time, mid-conversations, mid-fight, mid-celebration, mid-heartache, etc。 Their pull to each other felt forced now and I found myself skipping it (also the audiobook's narrator reads the scenes like it's ASMR and while it made me blush in the first book, all the scenes in this book made me skip their narration)。 I am left confused and with a large loss of interest in following the rest of their story。 :/ 。。。more

DNF。 I was almost done but I think I might have gotten burned out on the smut that I actually lost interest in it and couldn’t even remember what the plot line was to even FINISH the book。I mean, don’t get me wrong, I knew what I was getting myself into and what type of book I was reading。 And I did like the first one, but this was just not doing it for me anymore。Persephone was just whiny and would complain if something wasn’t her way and it just went on and on。 It just didn’t do anything for m DNF。 I was almost done but I think I might have gotten burned out on the smut that I actually lost interest in it and couldn’t even remember what the plot line was to even FINISH the book。I mean, don’t get me wrong, I knew what I was getting myself into and what type of book I was reading。 And I did like the first one, but this was just not doing it for me anymore。Persephone was just whiny and would complain if something wasn’t her way and it just went on and on。 It just didn’t do anything for me to actually read it…And also, if I hear one more “little goddess”, “Darling” or “my lady” I’m going to scream。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 At this point in the series I would be lying if I didn't say I am invested in the series。 However, the second book was in some ways pretty disappointing, especially after how much I enjoyed the first one。Firstly, Persephone's character is。。。 of some sorts uncertain? I'm not sure。 The smut in the book was very mediocre I felt compared to the first book; not bad, just rushed。 Also, why is there just so much unnecessary recapping? There was a lot of energy in the book I felt was misplaced, it felt like every part of the book was completely spontaneous and unplanned。 I really wish more than anything that we could have had the opportunity to actually connect with Lex's character before something bad happened to her。 We barely know anything about her and her relationship to feel any real emotions。 Also are we going to talk about how Lex kills herself and Persephone bangs Hades and then celebrates her engagement and new blog, and there is no real grieving from any characters thus far? WHERE IS THE BOYFRIEND????? That poor, poor boy。 It felt like the pacing was all over, there were unnecessary long bits and then the plot would be happening too fast, especially in the end OH MY GOD so rushed。 I could really go on and on but I will be reading the next book out of spite, hoping the author took this book as a lesson to learn from her mistakes。 。。。more

A Touch Of Ruin takes these two God's through real life moments of fear, jealous and loss。 As they traverse these challenges they learn to communicate and love each other more。 Persephone is a character that is evolving throughout this book series and seeing her mature through this book into the woman that she could be was great。 I look forward to the next book in the series。 A Touch Of Ruin takes these two God's through real life moments of fear, jealous and loss。 As they traverse these challenges they learn to communicate and love each other more。 Persephone is a character that is evolving throughout this book series and seeing her mature through this book into the woman that she could be was great。 I look forward to the next book in the series。 。。。more

DNF'd because the writing was horrrrrrible lol and tons of pointless 🌶 and the story felt like it was going nowhere。 I was entertained by the first one, but I think it should've been a standalone book。 Sad because I was excited about this series。 Maybe if I'd had different expectations I wouldn't have been disappointed in it。 DNF'd because the writing was horrrrrrible lol and tons of pointless 🌶 and the story felt like it was going nowhere。 I was entertained by the first one, but I think it should've been a standalone book。 Sad because I was excited about this series。 Maybe if I'd had different expectations I wouldn't have been disappointed in it。 。。。more

The first one was okay。 I gave it 3 stars。 Definitely not worth the hype it was receiving。 But this one? I couldn’t even finish it。 It was so juvenile, it was infuriating。 I’d give it zero stars if I could。

Persephone is so annoying, I can’t stand it。 Everyone in the book loves her unconditionally and I find her insufferable。 It’s beginning to take me out of the book when I’m reading。 Poor hades。

I totally get why people think Persephone is too much in ATOR but honestly? The plot in A Touch of Ruin is heavier compared to the 'new and fresh' romance between Hades and Persephone in ATOD but this was still a good read。 Throughout the book Persephone tries to find her footing in the mortal world + her divinity and basically is trying to sort out her shit which gets fucked up even more when shit hits the fan 😅 that feels like a decent summary without spoiling too much lol (view spoiler)[ “What happens if you and I,” she paused, unable to say the words。 “If the Fates decide to unravel our future? I don’t want to be so lost in you, so anchored in the Underworld, that I don’t know how to exist after。” Hades eyes narrowed, but when he spoke, his voice was desolate。 “I’m beginning to think that maybe you don’t want to be in this relationship。” Those words made her chest feel as if it were caving in。 “That’s not what I’m saying。” (hide spoiler)] Keen to read A Game of Retribution now that it's released and tbh, I just want to find someone I can point the blame and be like "this mf! It would have been 5🌟 except for Persephone’s actions for a good 100pages

This sequel did not disappoint。 Persephone was much more likable in this book。 I liked the addition of new characters, expanding the Greek mythology plot。

3。5 stars for Hades, none for Persephone 😂…does this book even have a plot?! I’m honestly not sure, but the audiobook was a good listen, and I’m def hype for AGOR!

3。5 stars。 Did not enjoy as much as the first one。 Not too bad of read but not a favorite。 Will still give the next one a read。

I really enjoy this storyline。 I read it in one sitting。

It is very hard for me to give this book such a low rating, because I loved the first one so very much。 But, I abhor when all the drama could have been solved by a few simple conversations and/or the MC just realizing that they are acting like a petulant child。 A vast majority of the decisions made in this book just astonish me with their stupidity。 I will continue on with the series because of my love for Hades and my hope that this particular book does not set the tone for the rest。

Quel livre, quelle saga !! There’s something special about a book that you pick up and only put down because you have prior obligations that have to be done。 I read this book in less than 24 hours from start to finish。 I did the same for ATOD。 I love SSC’s renditions of the Greek gods and goddesses。 Hermes is an absolute gem。 I’m anxious to see if we get to see more growth from Apollo in the next book。 And Hecate is a queen as always(not in the literal sense)。 SSC handles a lot of hard themes in this book, from loss to ab There’s something special about a book that you pick up and only put down because you have prior obligations that have to be done。 I read this book in less than 24 hours from start to finish。 I did the same for ATOD。 I love SSC’s renditions of the Greek gods and goddesses。 Hermes is an absolute gem。 I’m anxious to see if we get to see more growth from Apollo in the next book。 And Hecate is a queen as always(not in the literal sense)。 SSC handles a lot of hard themes in this book, from loss to abduction, with grace。 。。。more
